Photoshop Image Format Plugin for Realsoft3D

The Photoshop image format plugin reads and writes Photoshop .psd files.

Installation

To install the Photoshop Image Format plugin, unzip the downloaded file in the Realsoft3D directory. This will copy the file psdformat.dll to the Realsoft3D\plugins directory and create a new directory Realsoft3D\Photoshop\Doc which contains the documentation.

If you now open the 'Output objects' tab of the select window and choose 'New' from the popup menu you should see the Photoshop file format. Clicking on it will create a Photoshop output object.

Supported features for reading images

The Photoshop plugin reads Photoshop .psd files in Grayscale or RGB color mode with 8 bits or 16 bits per channel. All layers contained in the image file are accessible and can be assigned to Realsoft3D's material channels. Not supported are things like color overlays, layer blending options and layer styles.
Note: Reading 16 bits/channel works correctly only under Realsoft3D V 4.5 or higher.

Supported features for writing images

The Photoshop plugin writes Photoshop .psd files in RGB color mode with 8 bits or 16 bits per channel. The user can create any number of layers (for 8bits/channel only) and assign any Realsoft3D material channel to them. Layers always have 3 channels.
Note: Writing 16 bits/channel works correctly only under Realsoft3D V 4.5 or higher.
