Wavefront OBJ Import/Export plugin for Realsoft3D

Wavefront OBJ Import/Export imports Wavefront OBJ files into Realsoft3D and exports geometric objects from Realsoft3D to Wavefront OBJ format.

Installation

To install the Wavefront OBJ import/export plugin, unzip the downloaded file in the Realsoft3D directory. This will copy the file objformat.dll to the Realsoft3D\plugins directory and create a new directory Realsoft3D\Objformat\Doc which contains the documentation.

If you now open the 'File->Save As' dialog and open the File Format drop-down list you should see an entry 'OBJ' for exporting to Wavefront OBJ format. If you open an existing file with extension .obj via 'File->Load' or 'File->Insert' the plugin will automatically be invoked and the import options dialog will be displayed.

Coexistence with existing Wavefront OBJ plugins

There exists another Wavefront OBJ plugin by Moritz Moeller (OBJ.dll) which at the time of this writing supports export of SDS objects and trisets. Both plugins can be installed at the same time without interfering. In the File Format drop-down list Moritz Moeller's plugin shows up as 'Wavefront (*.obj)' whereas my plugin appears as 'OBJ'.
